Another “old way” that has become new again is what we now call “attachment parenting”- a philosophy of parenting that involves breastfeeding, co-sleeping, non-violent discipline, and basically just having a close and loving relationship with your child. Again, this is going back to tradition. This was the way I was raised- except for the baby sling thing- they didn’t have those back then, but babies were held a lot. Babies cries were never ignored. My mom did not consult the (then) popular childcare books or magazines of the day- thank Goddess! She raised me like she was raised, and how her mother was raised and so on- I imagine for countless generations… perhaps since Pagan times, which is why I say Pagan parenting is attachment parenting.
